Origin of name: Whateley was Archbishop of Dublin and a prominent member of the Canterbury Association from 1848.

Current name: Victoria Street

Re-named: Victoria Street in 1877 after George Gould presented a petition signed by 61 residents asking that the name be changed.
 Named after HM Queen Victoria (1819-1901).
